Industry Consultation Forums + Industry Survey - Community Services and Health Industry Skills Council

The following was received from the Community Services and Health Industry Skills Council:

The Community Services and Health Industry Skills Council (CS&H ISC) is holding four free Industry Consultation Forums in NSW, VIC, QLD and WA and conducting an Industry Survey to obtain industry feedback on Draft 1 components reflecting the work functions of Intake and Respite Coordinators.

The Industry Survey is now available to download on the Industry Consultation Forums and Materials section of the project webpage. Everyone is invited to complete the Survey to provide feedback on the draft additions.

Please download and complete this Survey and return to rebecca.seib@cshisc.com.au by Friday 20 August 2010.

What are the changes?

Three draft units of competency are proposed for addition to the Community Services Training Package (CHC08) and are intended to assist workers in Community Services who coordinate Respite for carers. The work functions reflected include:
  1. Use telephone communication skills to assess caller's needs
  2. Conduct assessment of carer's needs
  3. Facilitate access to information and services to support carers to meet their needs
Who should attend the forums?

Please be advised that this is not a training session or professional development activity. It is an opportunity for Community Services Stakeholders to provide detailed feedback on the proposed draft additions to the CHC08 Training Package based on their experience with the work functions of an Intake and Respite Coordination role.

The CS&H ISC is looking for registrations of attendance from the following:
  • Government / Private Employers (including Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centres)
  • Peak Bodies / Associations
  • Unions
Information regarding the Industry Consultation Forums is now available on the project webpage and Registrations for the forums are now open. Numbers are limited so please register now!
